Hello. I'm planning on installing java1.4 via swinstall which will create a java1.4 file system on /opt (/opt/java1.4). However, my /opt is rather small. I'd like to create a seperate mounted file system /opt/java1.4 on another larger volume group and then run the swinstall. I'm wondering however if via the swinstall if the java1.4 will still be built on /opt or on the newly mounted file system /opt/java1.4.
Thanks all. Also this is on a v-class server running 11.0

Solution
Yes, it is possible. You can install install software just about anywhere. There is an option from within the interactive 'swinstall' that allows you to change the 'target' of the installation. Have a look under the 'actions' menu.
