swinstall on C2

We want install patch PHSS_19739.depot but the following message was encountered after issuing "swinstall -s /backup/ptrluat/PHSS_19739.depot". C2 security have been turn-off before swinstall.

"cTABS200:/backup/ptrluat/PHSS_19739.depot": You do not have the
required permissions to perform this SD operation. Please check to
see that you have the required permissions using the "swacl" command
or see your system administrator for assistance.
Swacl output:

cTABS200[/backup/ptrluat]#swacl -l "root"
#
# swacl Installed Software Access Control List
#
# For host: cTABS200:/
#
# Date: Mon Oct 21 22:49:15 2002
#

# Object Ownership: User= root
# Group=sys
# Realm=cTABS200
#
# default_realm=cTABS200
object_owner:crwit
group:swadm:crwit
any_other:crwit

please advise asap ..

thanks you

Re: swinstall on C2

Hi!

Assuming that cTABS200 is your correctly configured hostname (including proper name resolution and and reverse name resolution) you may try to restart the swagentd process. Helps in many cases.

Re: swinstall on C2

Maybe a stupid question, but are your running this as root?

Restarting swagentd is a good suggestion - if you have hardened the machine based on Bastion Host documentation then swagentd will not be running.
