syslog error - switching hub?

Hi, I have come across the following in the syslog file:
jack unix: btlan4: NOTE: Link Partner does not
jack vmunix: btlan4: NOTE: MII link down, try
jack vmunix: btlan4: NOTE: 10Base-5 AUI started at
jack vmunix: btlan4: Hardware Reset Started on
jack vmunix: btlan4: NOTE: 100Base-TX Full-Duplex started at

Re: syslog error - switching hub?

well htere is some detail missing from htese messages, but essentially it looks like the network hub/siwtch you are connecting to has a problem. You need to check what ht port is confiured for, and if this is hte same card in the HP-UX box, then fix hte speed and duplex modes instead of allowing auto-negotiation.

Re: syslog error - switching hub?

Hi,

Your port is set to autosensing. Configure the port to 100/fixed/full or 10/half and autosensing off depending on the port configuration on the switch/hub.

Hope this helps.
