System Healtchek Report Problems 2
Hi everyone,
I've runned the lite performance option of shc on a hpux 11.00 L2000 system.
The result of the performance area was:
- One or more processes are blocked for resources detected.
- Processes with a large number of threads detected.
- LVM Mirror write cache miss rate is too high.
- Number of free memory pages is below lotsfree.
- Number of free memory pages is below desfree.
- Pageouts detected.
- Deactivations detected.
- Memory bottleneck detected.
- Buffer cache read hits too low.
- Multiple swap partitions found on the same device.
Please help me to solve this problems
Regards...
PSS

Re: System Healtchek Report Problems 2
Not much info to go on here. But you have plenty indications of too litle memory.
I'd put my $0.02 on buying more RAM.

Trond

Re: System Healtchek Report Problems 2
Hello PSS -
first solve the other issues in Your thread number #1, probably part of the performance issues will go away.
after that we can continue here, especially looking at Your swap usage, and the buffer cache ceiling should also be quite interesting.
As already said here, You might also need a bit more of memory. or maybe 9[1] gigabit :)
If it is possible, You should try to get some hp-ux specialist in-house for one day.
fixing 90% of the issues in thread#1 can be done in 5 hours or so, and the other 3 should be enough for an extensive analysis (i.e. if there are shared memory segments that became inactive.) and some good hints for You.
