tcpdump on 11.11?

Anyone have tcpdump working on 11.11?

I used the same 11.00 compiled version that worked on 11.00 for my 11.11 box but it errors out giving:

acadv07:root [/root] tcpdump
tcpdump: recv_ack: info unexpected primitive ack 0x0


Any suggestions? Should we recompile on the 11.11 box?

I did use the HP-UX 11.00 Dynamically Linked Binary (gzipped) from the utah site--that's the tcpdump I'm having trouble with.

Do you have libpcap also? Of course it probably wouldn't have installed without it.

Are you running 32bits or 63bits? How up to date are you with patches?

What options did you exercise when running tcpdump?

Try forcing an install of the tcpdump depot file, and see if that cut's it.

I already tried the swinstall w/ the reinstall=true.

No dice.

It sounds like you have tried everything. Weird! I wonder if it is related to your network card?

Hi,
I have the same problem. Finally, I found the problem is caused by my EISA lan card on my HP server. I switched to a PCI NIC, everything goes fine.
What kind of NIC you are using?

HP has bundled a number of Open Source apps together in a package that they 'maintain'. You can select the whole shooting match, or just a specific product in the bundle to download. (Like tcpdump.)
