Telnetd error message..
Hi All,
Today I got one starnge error which was written in syslog file. When user was trying to make telnetd then they were getting login prompt after long time and the below message was written in syslog file.
Jan 23 10:04:50 hp380d telnetd[1748]: ttloop: peer died: Connection timed out
Jan 23 10:04:57 hp380d telnetd[1751]: ttloop: peer died: Connection timed out
My question is what is ttloop ? How I can change login wait time? Means if anybody press bad password then again a new login prompt comes. How I can change the time ration between two login prompt ? I have seen Kernel parameter's page. But if you anybody gives me any suggetion means which site will be good for learning performance tuning then it would be great for me.

Re: Telnetd error message..
This could be indicative of a duplicate IP address, DNS being down or, in most cases, a problem at the firewall.
Check your nettl log for duplicates
#netfmt -f /var/adm/nettl.LOG00 > /tmp/logfile
#more logfile
The ttloop is part of the telnet code.
A good book to have for performance tuning is
