This is for all the masters that answered my questions the past month. My cold Install from HP-UX10.20 to HP-UX11.00 went smooth and without any major hitches. All the files to bring over, vgexport,vgimport, networking and stuff and re-configuration.

Thanks all once again. The forums are the best and the people are pros.

It's not only a great place to help others, but a great place to learn how to solve issues, issues that we could see tomorrow or next week. I agree that the people here are great. I've seen other places where the people there are just waiting for a "simple" question so that they can bash out and make themselves look superior, especially the DBA forums.

Whats that I hear you say about DBA'S?

Yes I think I can agree with you there. But not entirely. We have a few informix and Oracle DBA's who seem to make themselves very somewhat unaprochable (have i spelt that correct?) but I do have at least one who is a very nice chap who deserves uppermost respect.
What is the situation with these people? do they deem to think themselves somwaht superior??? or is it just me??

Actually it's that those forums are monitored by the host or the site nor by the people using the site. The people that sit on those forums, waiting for someone to ask a stupid question, just so they can show their superiority, are approachable, with a baseball bat.

Like here, if someone starts a bashing, they are quickly bitch slapped. I've even seen an HP person start into it, but they were quickly snuffed, and they haven't made another snide remark since. On the other forums here, especially the open to the public ones, I've seen people be removed for just such.
I'll forget more about unix than I will ever learn :-))
