Ticap in collaboration with Serviceguard

Ticap in collaboration with Serviceguard

Hi out there,

is there anybody out there who drives Serviceguard with ticap in that manner that serviceguard enables ticap restricted cpus during the switch to the backup node?
The idea is to not pay the whole amount of cpu´s build into the backup node, only in case of a switch they should become active. Also this should run completely automatized by a serviceguard user reaction script.
Will this work?
Does anybody have experience with such a config?

TIA Helmut

Re: Ticap in collaboration with Serviceguard

You could look at using WLM or gWLM for this

Re: Ticap in collaboration with Serviceguard

absolutely. As mentioned, you should use WLM (prm) for resource usage.

Re: Ticap in collaboration with Serviceguard

Thanks so far for that links, but by using WLM or gWLM it causes extra livcensing costs and additional costs for the SCM Host. So again the idea to control TiCap via the Serviceguard reaction scripts. Is this supportet, recommended or possible and maybe has anyone experiences with it?

Re: Ticap in collaboration with Serviceguard

No i´ve got the answer from an HP expert that my idea works also well. It´s a pity that nobody picked up that innovative idea
