						Hi all
Please help me to define Timezone in unix hpux 10.20 for Myanmar.
I know, that the local time in Myanmar is UCT + 6.5 and there is no
daylight time.
Is MMT the right abbreviation for Mynmar
Thanks

						Hi
I don't think so.
since Myanmar close to chine why don't you choose chinese standard time. Myanmar ST is not defined.
In AIX IST(Indian ST) is not defined so we use PAKST(pakistan ST)(which we don't want to)

						I don't know if there's an official abbreviation or not but as far as HP-UX is concerned, you can set TZ to what you like.
In fact, if there's no daylight savings adjustment, you don't even have to change /usr/lib/tztab.
Try the following in a telnet session:
TZ=MMT-6:30
date
This should give the correct result provided the server time is set to UCT (date -u).
To make this the default timezone, just edit /etc/TIMEZONE.
Regards,
John
