Tracking an HP-UX Process' Network Activity in 11.11
I've been increasingly being asked a performance question I really have not been able to answer my clients. And that is - network activity of HP-UX processes.
Specifically, we've a very busy server. During peak times where we experience network activity of 5,000 pkts/second - our applications support team would like to know which of the processes uses the network the heaviest.
Is there a tool or an easy recipe to do this on HP-UX? We're using 11.11
Thanks!

One could in theory use tcdump + tcptrace or wireshark/ethereal to get stats for individual TCP connections. You would then need to use lsof to map those connections back to proceses.
BTW, 5000 packets per second may not really be all that much traffic :)
