I am trying to install the nodehostname expansion via the depot file, NodeHostNameXpnd_B.11.23.01.depot.
I am getting an I/O Error and unable to proceed.
Attached is the screenshot of what i get.
What could be the cause and the possible solution?
Thanks in Advance!

Re: unable to install a depot file
restart the swagentd daemon
#swagentd -r
again put the depot in /tmp directory and try to install.

Re: unable to install a depot file
# file /var/HP/NodeHostNameXpnd_B.11.23.01.depot
Does it show "tar" or "gzip compressed"?

Re: unable to install a depot file
Hi,
Yes, it shows the below output:
# file /var/hp/NodeHostNameXpnd_B.11.23.01.depot
/var/hp/NodeHostNameXpnd_B.11.23.01.depot: tar file
#
Restarting the swagent daemon didn't work.
Thanks!

Re: unable to install a depot file
The size seems to vary..
274 MB in the depot site but
103KB in my PC.
How come?
Is this the problem?

Re: unable to install a depot file
The size and cksum on your HP-UX box should match that on the patch database.

Re: unable to install a depot file
103KB in my PC
It is a little less, isn't it?
Clear the browsers cache, restart the browser and start again.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: unable to install a depot file
Refer to the following site for installing the patch:
http://h20392.www2.hp.com/catalog_content/product/install_page/NodeHostNameXpnd.html
Probably the depot is corrupted
Try to check MD5 Checksum value
https://h20392.www2.hp.com/ecommerce/efulfillment/downloadfaq.do#q7
Refer to point 7 & 8
