Re: unable to mount the cdrom

Hi:

Assuming that the '/cdrom' directory exists, you need to do something like:

# mount -F cdfs /dev/dsk/cXtYdZ /cdrom

See the manpages for 'mount_cdfs(1M)'

Re: unable to mount the cdrom

Make sure you are using the correct terminal, and you are not using another terminal of another server.

Try this:

Do an

#ioscan -fnC disk

to see wich is your CDROMs device path (/dev/dsk/cxtxdx)

then do:

#mkdir /cdrom (if it's not created)
#mount /dev/dsk/cxtxdx /cdrom

Finally

#ls /cdrom

to list all the CDROMs contents

Re: unable to mount the cdrom

Have you used the CDROM recently?

Have you made any recent SW changes to the server, or deletion/modifying of files?

Could you send the output of the ioscan -fnC disk?

Also send the output of

#ll /dev/dsk
#ll /dev/rdsk

Probably your CDROM is bad...but send those outputs to see what you have.

Re: unable to mount the cdrom

Could you try with a different CD also...

For example a HPUX installation CD..

Could be that the CD is bad..

Lakshmikanth:

How it went with your installation. Sorry I had to go home last night.

Did the installation finished successfully, or you are still having problems?

Re: unable to mount the cdrom

It appears the MC/SG has been installed.

Now comes the fun part of creating your cluster and the packages......

Re: unable to mount the cdrom

Ok now can you tell me

I have one more server i got to install Sg on that as well.

So can i use the same
codeword and install it or need to have different codeword.

and can i generate a second codeword from the Cust Id I have already. I generated one and used it to install on the first one.

Thnx

Re: unable to mount the cdrom

Yes I think you have to use 1 license (codeword) per server, so I recommend to generate another one using this site:

http://licensing.hp.com/site=ITRC?LANGUAGE_OPTION=english

or

Calling HP Licensing directly:

http://licensing.hp.com/licenseAdmins.slm

Re: unable to mount the cdrom

Shalom,

SG is licensed per CPU and needs to be purchased for every production SG server by CPU.
