Unexplained increase in backup time with vxdump
Recently the full backups of our server have started to take about an hour longer than they used to. I have looked through the log files and found that prior to the 13th they were consistently taking less than 5 hours, and since then they have been taking just over 6 hours.
As far as I know, no changes have been made to the server. The amount of data being backed up has not changed.
The backup command puts out periodic status lines. These line are now being written out at smaller intervals (they used to be roughly every 2.4%, and now they are roughly every 1.8%) with each taking more time (used to start at 3.5 minutes and get progressibely smaller, now starts at 4.5 minutes).
Any ideas what might be causing the slowdown?

Re: Unexplained increase in backup time with vxdump
May or may not help but I do know there are a couple of vxdump patches (depending on your OS version) that you might want to check.
1- vxdump cumulative patch
2- vxdump snapshot FS hang patch
