Hi:
I can't imae why you would want to uninstall 'ignite' unless you want to update its version. I have updated without problem by toggling the 'swinstall' 'reinstall' options.
However, to answer your question more directly, use 'swremove'.

the only reason for me to remove ignite is when I try to make a recovery_tape_backup it gives me a fileset error and displays both old and new version of ignite.
It worked fine on my other server without uninstaling ignite...
Anyway swremove is an interactive way to remove the software i guess.

swremove, like all the software distributor commands, is driven by the command line. So just like installing patches or other software, you can put the fileset to remove on the command line and it will run in batch mode.
There is a certain comfort level in being able to browse through the products with the interactive mode of swremove.
