A question about the directory .snapshot in OS 10.2 under my home directory .
What is the usage ?
owner is root and group root ?
I want to delete that if not necessary ?

I think the .snapshot directory is used by JFS/VxFS when you use the snapshot file system. The snapshot file system can be used to do backups of a directory or filesystem by taking a snapshot of that file system at a point in time.

You could probably find more information on the snapshot file system in the VxFS manuals.
