Unix interface with exchange

We have an RP7410 running hpux 11i and the name of our exchange server is changing. Where in unix is that ip or name kept that should be changed?

Re: Unix interface with exchange

Hi Jeff,

# cd /etc/mail
# grep ip_mailserver sendmail.cf

should be someting like
DSip_of_mail_server (or alias to /etc/hosts or DNS)

Re: Unix interface with exchange

Shalom,

/etc/hosts is where you can make a change on the Unix host if /etc/nsswitch.conf as is standard uses files first for host resolution.

If your shop has a central DNS server the change can be made there though response time will likely be a wee bit longer.
