Unusual message from cmcld

When executing the command cmruncl an unusual message appears in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log:
cmcld:Unable to bind to 212.15.64.41,5304:227
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Re: Unusual message from cmcld

hmm, sounds like you may have a netqoeking problem.
One would assume this did work before, so what changes have been made?
which version of SG? is it patched?
what does a cmscancl show you?

Re: Unusual message from cmcld

Hi Lora,

If you issue a "netstat -an | grep 5304", are you seeing any output?

thank You for quick response. cmscancl does not show anything unusual and this process (5304) is not found

Re: Unusual message from cmcld

Lora,

Was this a working MC/ServiceGuard configuration?
Is the IP address in the error message in the same subnet as your lan card? What is the output of netstat -ni? And finally what is the output of cmviewcl?

So basically, need more information to diagnose this.

Re: Unusual message from cmcld

No,
this isn't the ip address of any LAN card in the cluster - this is a web site. And this is my major problem. The cluster was running until one of the node fails. And I can't bring it up now.

Re: Unusual message from cmcld

Lora,

Are you running ServiceGuard on this machine? If so, could you send the output of netstat -ni...we'll start with that.

Re: Unusual message from cmcld

port 5340 is defined on /etc/services:

hacl-hb 5300/tcp # High Availability (HA) Cluster heartbeat
hacl-gs 5301/tcp # HA Cluster General Services
hacl-cfg 5302/tcp # HA Cluster TCP configuration
hacl-cfg 5302/udp # HA Cluster UDP configuration
hacl-probe 5303/tcp # HA Cluster TCP probe
hacl-probe 5303/udp # HA Cluster UDP probe
hacl-local 5304/tcp # HA Cluster Commands
hacl-test 5305/tcp # HA Cluster Test

If IP is not part of cluster rewiew clsuter configuration.

Re: Unusual message from cmcld

Okay, a couple of other things...is the other machine, i.e. the one with 212.15.54.41, part of your SG cluster or is this a another machine?

What is the output of cmviewcl and cmgetconf...do they make mention of this IP address, i.e. 212.15.54.41?

Re: Unusual message from cmcld

Neither of these commands reveal such an address. Is there any possibility that this could be a standard address?
I am running SG A.10.10

Re: Unusual message from cmcld

Hi again,
Our DNS specialist found out what the problem was.In the machine's DNS there is not an entry for localhost.
And the other name of this site (212.....) is localhost
