update ignite version

Hi everybody

I have a Ignite 7.7.98 version in my server HPUX 11.23 and i want update this version to 7.8.201, I need remove the previus version and install the Ignite-UX-11-23_C.7.8.201_HP-UX_B.11.00_32_64.depot or the install of the Ignite-UX-11-23_C.7.8.201_HP-UX_B.11.00_32_64.depot update my actual version without remove it??

Hi,

You need to remove the older version and update the new version. System won't prefer to have two different version of ignite on the server.

If Ignite-UX is already installed on your system and you simply want to update it to a newer version, make sure you update all the currently installed Ignite-UX bundles. To determine what bundles are currently installed, use the swlist (1m) command:
# swlist -l bundle | grep Ignite
If this command yields something similar to the following, then you have the full Ignite-UX product (B5725AA or IGNITE) installed:
IGNITE C.7.2.94 HP-UX Installation Utilities (Ignite-UX)
If you find Ignite-UX bundles for more than one HP-UX release, the simplest strategy is to install the B5725AA or IGNITE bundle. Alternatively, you can supply multiple bundle names when you execute the swinstall (1m) command."

I have this in my server

desaatg:/var/opt/ignite# swlist -l bundle | grep Ignite

Ignite-UX-11-31 C.7.7.98 HP-UX Installation Utilities for Installing 11.31 Systems

i need update all the version or only is necesary the bundle UX-11-23_C.7.8.201_HP-UX_B.11.00_32_64.depot??

Hi,

If you install only UX-11-23_C.7.8.201_HP-UX_B.11.00_32_64.depot, it will leave previous version untouched.

Either you need to download the entire bundles which consists ignite for all the versions and install straight away, or remove the entire old bundle and install only UX-11-23_C.7.8.201_HP-UX_B.11.00_32_64.depot.

I would suggest download the entire bundle for all the versions and install that.
