Upgrading sendmail - easy or not ?

N Class server running HPUX 11.00 with 500+ users.

I believe our current version of sendmail is 5.65 and I'm wanting to upgrade this to hopefully fix a few problems we have with stripped attachments.

I know where to get the upgraded version etc., but how easy is an upgrade from 5.65 to 8.x ?? Has anyone done something similar?

Never upgraded from a version that old! but have done upgrades - quite painless....

Any special rules will have to be re-done - you will have to modify your sendmail.cf file for your site after the upgrade. (IE DS / DM macros, Troot, etc)

Are you compiling yourself or using HP's?
