USB Printers on Print Server

Hi,

We have HP-UX running on HP C3000 machines and I would like to share a color inkjet printer Epson R320 among these machines. The printer is USB and can't be directly connected to the workstation. Could anyone suggest a compatible print server that can be configured with HP-UX. Would appreciate any pointers. Regards.

Any IP enabled print server should have some chance of working with the C3000.

Linksys sells a few of these but they are only windows cerfified. Choose one that is either open source or says Linux compatiable. If it works with standards compliant Linux.

I don't have much experience with HP-UX but do have with FreeBSD, Linux and Solaris. I have successfully setup HP Jetdirect printing with Linux and BSD but haven't done anything on HP-UX.

Does HP-UX have drivers for inkjet printers?

A JetDirect 175x does have a USB output so that this external JetDirect could be used.


Here are some model scripts so to the extend that this printer emulates an HP inkjet then you may be in luck. If not then you will need to modify an existing interface file.

Thanks all for your help. Looks like Jetdirect en3700 has HP-UX support. The manual page #160 has instructions to set up the server on HP-UX. Thanks.
