user & passwd synchronisation with ldap-server
Has anyone written a synchronisation mechanism to synchronise users and their attributes thru an ldap server ?
i know that hp has an ldap-pam, but it does no synchronisation ; it just querries the ldap-server.
Ultimate target goal is to maintain our hosts (unix, nt, oracle, ..) via our mainframe (z/os - acf2).
tia,

Re: user & passwd synchronisation with ldap-server
Hi,
Aside from PAM-LDAP, the LDAP-UX product includes NSS-LDAP. This allows the HP-UX system to query the LDAP directory whenever account/group or other NIS similar information is required. This avoids elminates the need for synchronization. This might work for you.

Re: user & passwd synchronisation with ldap-server
There are white papers on the subject. We plan to authenticate most users via a Microsft PDC.
My copy is on paper, but you'll find it with a simple search here.
