User are not able to perfoe any action in this box.
Hi Team,
HPUX-9000 Mechine, in this user info are kept in NIS. Problem is Some user are not able to perfoe any action in this box.
In this server /var is full. Anybody give the solution for this

What exactly does this mean? What action are they trying to perform? What are the results? Specific commands and errors would be very helpful.

OK. What has filled it up? One of the first things I would do is use the cleanup command to commit patches. 'man cleanup' for information on how to do this.

Can't do much with /var full
sam
Routine functions
Trim log files.
cd /var
du -k | sort -rn | more
# Identifies full directories.
BTW, NIS data is kept in /var which probably explains why NIS doesn't work.
