Using a browser to logon to my server

I have installed Apache and can connect from my browser fine, so what I want to know is can you administer your server from a browser. So instead of displaying an HTML page when I connect can I get it to display a login prompt and let me login and do work.

Hope this makes sense???????? :-)
Better to regret something you have done, than something you havn't

Hi,

if you want to admin your HP-Box you can use webmin. It's a web based admin tool without the need of a login/telnet.
You can get it here:

Without further Software, no.
You can open a telnet session from a webbrowser, but that's better to do direct.
Another possible solution is to install a programm like webmin to admin the most things of your server. Or you use a java programm like mindterm to open a ssh-connection to your server.
But only with apache and browser, I think no.

Actually you can display a logon prompt on a web browser via java as long as you have a webconsole which ships with most new machines.
Minimum effort maximum output!
