Re: Using Samba on HP11.00
Hello,
1.Check whether you have specified the username if the smb.conf file.
2.check whether you have started the smbd and nmbd daemons.
3.check whether you have installed the win95*.reg file on the windows machine and done a reboot.
4.Use the username given in the smb.conf file with the passwd.
Thanks

Re: Using Samba on HP11.00
What exactly is your problem?
- do you want to "browse" the status of the samba server using swat?
- do you want to "browse" the network neighbour hood on the win95 machine?
For the first you have to enter the root-account and pwassword form the HPUX machine your samba server is running on.
For the later the answer is very much dependant on the "security" option you have set and the configuration of every share (see part of the samba manual in the attachment).
The answer would be much easier, if you would post your smb.conf file.
