V Bit Setting for HP-UX on EMC DMX

Has anyone ever heard of a "V Bit Setting for HP-UX on EMC DMX"? We had issue where bit set for HP-UX on FA, and linux on same FA couldn't see LUNs. EMC states 'V Bit' required for HP-UX ONLY! Anyone heard of this before?

V bit setting is VSA ( Volume set addressing ) mode bit for HPUX set in FA flag settings.
