Re: /var/adm/sw/save
Hi:
Do not manually manage this directory. The directory contains the roll-back information for patches that have been superseded. Hence, its file enable you to 'swremove' a current patch and restore its predecessor.
If you wish to recover disk space in '/var' the safest approach is to use the 'cleanup' utility.
The utility and its manpages were delivered with 11.23 by PHCO_32220; in 11.11 by patch PHCO_27780; and in 11.0 by PHCO_27779.
Regards!

Re: /var/adm/sw/save
Although /var/adm/sw is quite large, removing anything from it (using rm) will destroy the ability of your system to load any more software or patches. Use the cleanup utility, and strongly consider creating a separate lvol to hold /var/adm/sw so it does not affect /var.
