Hi,
Has anyone had any success installing an 11i server as a Veritas NetBackup master server? The install craps out when it tries to install Java. An error is spit out that says Java not supported on 11i. Any suggestions?
OS: 11i
Media: Veritas NetBackup DataCenter v3.4
Thanks!

Solution
The errata sheet for Netbackup 3.4 talks about this exact problem.

Re: Veritas NetBackup 3.4 with 11i
I also tried the solution and it did work but i get a NB-Java socket error user service. I downloaded the latest patches for netbackup 3.4 and the java one also. I can bring up jnbSA but when i enter the password and hit enter i get the error:
Unable to login, status: 507
Socket connection to the NB-Java user servicehas been broken. Please retry....
Exception: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer....

Re: Veritas NetBackup 3.4 with 11i
We simply can't get the very same error to go away.
We manage the backups throught he master backup server and licenses media manager.
We tried it all and were not able to solve this problem. Our java versoin is 1.3 last release.
We and Veritas are clueless.
Same version, same OS.
