vg questions
Hi,
I'm running a hpux 11iv3 with an eva4400, on this server, I will have few customer that have few env(prod/preprod/test).
I have decided to create one vg per customer instances, so vg_client1_prod, vg_client1_test.
should I build the mount point on vg00 like this /prod/client1 and all the file system mount point under need from the specific vg.
eg: /prod/client1/data,/prod/client1/apps,/prod/client1/var,/prod/client1/etc
and use symlink from /var/opt/ and redirect to my specific vg?
Thanks,

Re: vg questions
Shalom,
I don't see the reason for the sym link unless you have applications expecting data to be on /var/opt
Your solution makes sense. A volume group per client.
You could also have a file system per client to make your storage management system less labor intensive.

Re: vg questions
Hi,
Lets keep vg_client1_prod as client1 and vg_client1_test as client2.
These are the naming conventions used for the best use of the system admin..and its always better to have the VG,LV and FS mount with similar prefix..
