vmstat issue - Abnormal resource consumption
Hello Admins,
$ vmstat 5 5
procs memory page faults cpu
r b w avm free re at pi po fr de sr in sy cs us sy id
1 0 0 293347 6496 8 3 1 0 0 0 24 134 1995 536 1 1 99
1 0 0 293347 6441 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 132 1140 456 0 0 100

with this vmstat result, do u suspect anything wrong??? anything like Abnormal resource consumption??

Hi,
The only thing I can think of or ask you is, is this system being used at all ?
No resource sonsumption. But then depends on when this output is taken - definitely not during the busy hours for the system.
What is that you are looking for ?
No resource issues from this output, although its just for 25 seconds.

Hi Sekar,
You can do few things when they call you for problems
swapinfo -tam
vmstat 5 99
(look for PI and PO ), normal to have PI, if you see numbers in PO, then you need to start looking at other places.
