vmunix: NFS fsstat failed for server crh0000047106: RPC: Remote system error

We have been receiving this errors since we got or CIFS client set up. We are also using an NFS share on this same box. HP-UX 11.0. Any ideas what this is and why it occurs. I'm wondering if a bdf if causing this or what?

Thanks

What version of CIFS/9000 Client are you using here.

Before you proceed too far, I suggest the latest version.

My connection is up and running just fine. We tested today and were able to write and read as expected.

Based on the additional information:

1) When you run cifsclient, you are actually running on top of an nfs client. I don't know why, but I went over this with Rita Workman and that seems to be the case.

The NFS portion of the connection appears to be stale. I would look at the status of any NFS exports, especially those that export the same folders as CIFS/9000

On the server exportfs -av and see if it alleviates the problem.

I would due to the error message and experience address this as an NFS problem.

I believe this server (zeus) has the NFS client on it (if there is such a thing).

trendstar:/hboguest /trendstar nfs defaults 0 0

I ran exportfs with no parameters, it said 'nothing exported', I then checked the /etc/exports file and found the file did not exist.

Should I be running the exportfs on trendstar? The CIFS client in on zeus as well.

crh0000047106:/MIE$ /imaging cifs defaults 0 0

Well, HP got involved... We went into the cifsclient.cfg file and uncommented nfsTrace, cifsTrace and smbSequence. I sent Sandra the log files. Looking at the log files, we saw a specific UID that seemed to be causing the problem. We investigated the UID and found it belonged to BMC Patrol. We authenticated the patrol account and as of now, we have been message from for 30 minutes! BTW, this message was occuring every 2 minutes.
