vmunix: proc: table is full

Dear All,

From last few weeks we are facing a problem with our production environment.

We have installed a VM with hp-ux operating sytem and have installed SAP ERP with Oracle database.

Our Operating System version is HP-UX B.11.31 u ia64(ta) and database is oracle 11.2.0.2. Suddenly we have started facing a problem where in all our SAP work processes get stuck and we have to reboot or VM. We have to take our system reboot after every 3 days. I tried finding the logs at SAP level and also at OS level and found the below error logs :

===============================

SAP level (Listener log) :

TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
TNS-12536: TNS:operation would block
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-00506: Operation would block
HPUX Error: 246: Operation would block

===============================

Operating system logs :

Nov 16 09:13:47 bileccdb above message repeats 37 times
Nov 16 09:13:48 bileccdb vmunix: proc: table is full

Nov 16 09:13:51 bileccdb sshd[1032]: error: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable
Nov 16 09:14:30 bileccdb cmdisklockd[2372]: fstatvfsdev failed: Resource temporarily unavailable
Nov 16 09:24:28 bileccdb tftpd[9235]: fork: Resource temporarily unavailable

===============================

The above issue is resolved once we take our system(VM) reboot.

Request your dear experts please assist in solving the above issue as its not feaseable to take system restart after every 3 days.

Awaiting your reply

Best Regards,

Prashant
