volume group offline

I am getting following mesg in syslog.log.

Jan 22 08:23:22 usunx38 IXOS-eCONserver[27402]: ERROR : Volume IXOS_L7_0002A_03_2007 is offline
Jan 22 08:23:22 usunx38 IXOS-eCONserver[27404]: ERROR : volume is offline: Volume IXOS_L7_0002B_03_2007 is offline
Jan 22 08:23:22 usunx38 IXOS-eCONserver[27405]: ERROR : Volume IXOS_L7_0002B_03_2007 is offline
Jan 22 08:23:22 usunx38 IXOS-eCONserver[27402]: ERROR : Volume IXOS_L7_0002B_03_2007 is offline
How can I troubleshoot and fix this problem.

An earlier reply would be highly appreciated.

we use logical volume manager here.

Please post both first:

# vxdisk list

# strings /etc/lvmtab

The above error message doesn't looks like to be related with LVM.

LVM vgs will have a message like volume group not activated...

When did you receive these messages and please post the commands o/p as requested above.

Time has a wonderful way of weeding out the trivial
