vPar install with Ignite-UX 6.1.44

Could someone help me? Documentation says that I need to change default WINSTALL file for Ignite with WINSTALL special for vpar with WINSTALL_script but I can not download it. Cause there is no link for Virtual Partitions at www.software.hp.com

Hi,

From the version of Ignite-UX, it looks like you are running on 11i v2. Maybe you are looking at old information for 11i v1.

Check the install process in the latest vpars doc for 11i v2:

I have vPar 2.0 and HP-UX 11.11 and after installing from Ignite-Ux server. My virtual partition doesnt boot. It says: Kernel not relocatable
What I am doing wrong

Vpars A.02 .03 is the minimum you need, and you have to make sdure your kernel is a relocatable one as discused in the manuals for Installing and Managing Vpars.

Where can I take relocatable kernel. The old link for vParWINSTALL was removed from hp site

You got partway through the install and got the message about "not relocatable kernel"? If that is the case I would guess that you didn't have vpars software selected in the install of the vpar client. When mk_kernel created the kernel it didn't have the vpar module that makes the kernel relocatable.

So you need to make sure that the vpar software is selected from the depot you install your client from.

I have the same problem. I'm running a vparboot command from our Ignite server with the path /opt/ignite/boot/Rel_B.11.23/WINSTALL. When the vPar tries to boot this kernel I immediately get the error that the kernel is not relocatable. When I copy the file to the first and running vPar and run the vparreloc command on it it say that the source vmunix file is not relocatable.

The vPar version I'm using is 4.01.

So my assumption is that in version 6.1.44 of Ignite there are non-relocatable WINSTALL files which cannot be used for a vPar install. This has been a problem in earlier Ignite versions like 3.3, 3.4 and 3.5. It had been resolved in version 3.7. HP had supplied a different WINSTALL file for those earlier faulty versions.

Are there other relocatable WINSTALL files available for Ignite version 6.1.44?
