I am wondering specifically if there is a limit to the number of vpars that can be carved up?
Also is it possible that the carving too many vpars would cause teh underlying monarch npar to become confused? Is a full system reboot recommended when adding multiple partitions?
Any other limitations with creating multiple vpars that need to be taken into consideration ?

Re: vpar limit on HPUX 11.11/ vpar 3.04
Last I read 8 vpars per npar.
Of course every vpar needs network and disk to boot from. These days that means fiber.

Re: vpar limit on HPUX 11.11/ vpar 3.04
SEP thanks for the quick response!
Last week after creating 3 vpars on an npar that already had 6 vpars (making 9) we started seeing unidentifiable performance issues on system related commands like wc etc. We attributed this to the underlying npar being overloaded due to a limit being reached. I have never seen a vpar being effected in this way. We also have never been at 9 vpars. These three additional vpars were removed and one troublesome vpar was rebooted. The entire frame panic'd and npar needed a reset.
