Re: Vpar

hmmm difficult to explain such an obtuse question...

kind of like saying - "why Adobe Acrobat required on my PC to open PDF files?"

The answer I guess is "because it is"

If we want to get more technical we could talk about the fact that a partition running in a vPar must have a kernel which is relocatable in memory - if the vPar software isn't installed, the kernel isn't able to do this...

If you are concerned about admins in all vPars being able to change vPar configurations, I suggest you have a look at the following docs:

http://docs.hp.com/en/6771/rbac.vpars.ed400.pdf

Re: Vpar

This vPar will not boot, because the kernel is not relocatable.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Vpar

Hi,

As torsten told, you will not be able to boot this Vpar.

You may need to boot this Vpar into Npar mode and then you may install Vpar Product on this. Then you can use this OS as a Vpar.

Re: Vpar

Hi,

sorry to say "Vpar in to Npar mode",

you may boot the Npar with the perticular bootdisk (meant for that Vpar)

Re: Vpar

Basically It is create layered called VPMON ,Which will help the resource management(CPU,memory,LBA,SBA) of system among the virtual partition.
