I am looking for specific websites or discussion forums covering VPN, the different protocols (MPLS and IPSec for example), the vulnerabilities VPN has encountered, and maybe some case studies.
The reason for this is because I am interested in the in-depth workings of VPN and what can or needs to be done to improve VPN capabilities, whether its the protocol or the security aspect.
I hardly am able to find anything on the internet, and the text book, while excellent in its own right, does not offer what I am looking for, true problems encountered with VPN in the business field.
Anyone here know of a place to look and find interesting topics, or know someone who can direct me?
I suspect some people here who may belong to some business/technology forum may know of a place or journals I can get.
Thanks in advance for your help!

As to software - HP has a software IPSec bundle, get it from www.software.hp.com. If you're looking for *UX/Linux VPN software (to support tunneling ) check for FreeSWAN software.http://www.freeswan.org/
For Windows you may like CheckPoint's VPN client software (I think they give it away for
free) :
http://www.checkpoint.com/techsupport/downloads_sr_fp3_hf1.html
Of course you may want VPN server solution as a
hardware box - check cisco site for example, they also have some guides there:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/index.html
Many security sites also have articles on the subject , check for example -
