Vue log-in problems...
Would appreciate some help with this problem as I have no experience with VUE. Getting the following error when trying to log into the system, but, if the user tries 3 times it is successful.
An error box appears as below:
/////////////////////
Action Required
The HP VUE messaging system could not be started.
To correct the problem:
1. Choose [OK] to return to the login screen.
2. Select Failsafe Session from the login screen's option menu and log in.
3. Check to see that the hostname is correct in these locations:
/etc/rc.config.d/netconf
/etc/hosts
/var/adm/inetd.sec
For additional information, see the HP VUE User's Guide.

Re: Vue log-in problems...
Are you running a DNS? If so type in nslookup and see what response you get.
Check that the /etc/resolv.conf file is correct, if there is a DNS problem, check that there is a /etc/nsswitch.conf file, if not then one can cp /usr/newconfig/etc/nsswitch.conf /etc and vi the file and move the word files in front of dns, then rename /etc/resolv.conf to another name.
Also try and mv ~/.vue ~/vue.old and try and relogin.

Re: Vue log-in problems...
As in previous message, this means that your terminal cannot be found in DNS or as I found out the hard way, if you have a Xaccess file, each of the entries MUST be able to be found in DNS. VUE and CDE will attempt to resolv all the entries in order in the Xaccess file until it finds yours. If there are any unresolvable entries before yours, then the search terminates at that point.
