It appears that you need to update patches.

If you search:

hpvm 3.5 configuration site:docs.hp.com

In google, you will get a series if documents, including one that documents what necessary patches are for normal operation of hpvm

swlist -l product | grep
# To check installation of the patch itself.

HPVM is now on version 4.2, at least on Itanium/IA64 platform.

You might want to consider an upgrade, so long as you are not running Windows Server 2003 guest which is only supported up to Version 4.1 of HPVM
