WebLogic licensing exception

Hi, I can sucessfully install WL using a script in the command promt, however i get an exception in the licencing phase.

bad document for elName=license-group doc=null ...returning null...
java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.bea.installer.registry.LicenseMerger.merge(LicenseMerger.java:96)
at com.bea.installer.registry.LicenseMerger.main(LicenseMerger.java:372)

once again i know the script i use is not to blame since i have installed WL sucessfully in other HP-UX machines. any suggestion on the cause of this exception are welcome!
