websphere topology

I would like to set up a websphere (v4) infrastructure. It is important that the set up is high-available.

I was thinking about a multi-domain setup.
Do you guys have experience with this stuff ?

Do i need the edge-server if i have 2 was-servers and i want to keep sessionaffinity ?
