I typed a bad option of setprivgrp command. The following short help is printed:
setprivgrp:no privilege associated with peter
usage: setprivgrp -n|-g|group-name [RTPRIO] [MLOCK] [CHOWN] [LOCKRDONLY] [SETRUGID] [MPCTL] [RTSCHED] [SERIALIZE] [SPUCTL]
or setprivgrp -f file-name
MPCTL and SPUCTL aren't discussed in manual pages. What do they mean ?

Re: what are MPCTL and SPUCTL privilegies ?
SPUCTL
Allows certain administrative operations in the Instant Capacity On Demand (iCOD) product. See
that product's documentation for more information.
MPCTL
Can use mpctl() to change processor binding, locality domain binding or launch policy of a process (see mpctl(2)).
Best regards...
Dietmar.

Re: what are MPCTL and SPUCTL privilegies ?
HP-UX in my box is 11.00, not 11i
Why all those changes aren't reflected in HP-UX 11.00 manual pages ?

Re: what are MPCTL and SPUCTL privilegies ?
About setprivgrp for 11.00 on docs.hp.com I see Sep 2000; maybe older releases of HP-UX 11.00 had not those reference. Your 11.00 system is newer of Sep 2000, it is newer than that documentation but it just a thought...
Best regards,
Ettore

Re: what are MPCTL and SPUCTL privilegies ?
It has been around for such a long time and it was a useful interface, HP finally decided to officially support it.
I believe that SPUCTL is still in the boat of being undocumented and unsupported.
