Re: what is HP Netstation software?
If you don't have any of those, you do not need it.

SolutionThe i960 based Xterminal Products :
Envizex P, A and I series, Entria and Entria + are supported with Enware 7.11.
The Netstations based on NEC MIPs architecture :
EnvizexII, EntriaII are supported with Enware2 versions 8.12 , 9.11, 9.12.
HP no longers ships the H/W and the S/W may be retrieved from an external ftp site see the" return of the mutant enware" post or do a search for "ftp enware site" on this forum.
Its used to boot/configure xterminals (dumb terminals that allow remote X sessions) and provides an easy mechanism to add xterminals into a hosts bootptab etc via the xtadm admin tool.

Re: what is HP Netstation software?
The main configuration for these guys should be from config file /opt/hpxt/enware2/xthome
You need to set up that dir too so that the xterm can mount it as it's lets say non eeprom root filesystem...
Xterms should be configured via bootp for first boot although a config screen (F12) can be used at the xterm.
remember it's diskless and all x protocol traffic goes across network. make sure that you don't overload your server with too many xterms.
and don't forget to patch it... lots of strange bugfixes such as pressing shift lock key too long turns off the led even though shift lock is on!
Netstation software is licenced on a per server basis.
Later,
Bill
