Where are you seeing SSI Errors?

Hi,

We would like to maintain a unique list of posts where people receive SSI error when using the forums. Please reply to this message and provide the information where you encountered the SSI error.

If possible, it would be helpful to list the family (i.e. Openview & Networking) as well as the category, along with the subject of the message where you noticed the SSI error. For example, "I saw a SSI error here -

hp-ux --> system administation --> 'Subject goes here'

I would like to pinpoint how many SSI errors still exist.

Thank you for your continued support!

Kind regards,

Shayne

Re: Where are you seeing SSI Errors?

It looks as if there are certain forum members (Rick, Bassey... etc) that generate the SSI errors only after attempting to create a new post. Although they can respond to existing posts they haven't been able to generate any new ones for some time now.

Shayne,

It seems Bassey Essien still can't create new posts. His latest is giving me the SSI Error. Here is the info:

Re: Where are you seeing SSI Errors?

As listed above, I am one of at least a couple (are there more?) individuals who have trouble just posting. As of late, I have been limiting my attempts to the hpux-sysadmin area. But through messages from other forum users, this seems to have spread. The example with the Business Issues is a new one to me. This did work in the past as there have been numerous replies to the post.

My curosity would point me to the area that would be user specific and not widespread throughout the forums as other individuals are able to post.

Shayne -- sometimes if I wait for awhile and try the link again I'll get the page. It's almost as if there's some kind of resource contention occuring. Are these stored in a database? What kind?

Re: Where are you seeing SSI Errors?

Something else weird. Sometimes I come into the forums > hp-ux and the link for this thread is at top. I force a refresh on my browser using Ctrl-Refresh and I see the SAM Teams wants your input (dated 1-5-01).

If I then do a regular refresh I see this thread at the top of the page again (with only 6 replies, by the way).

Maybe it's my browser ... but it's been like that (by my memory) for the last couple of days -- and I had to reboot once already today, so I'm pretty sure it isn't cached in the browser.

Thought your enquiring mind wanted to know ...

Re: Where are you seeing SSI Errors?

HPUX Forum -> sam error message 1/12/01

Error processing SSI file '/cm/QuestionAnswerContent/0,1154,LoggedIn!0xcda379bffde7d4118fef0090279cd0f9!0!1!0!1!1,00.html'

And to confirm: I saw messages disappear and then reappear just by hitting refresh. I did catch a URL that had the European address even though I was always using the US address. This is IE-5.

I had a similar SSI error with a post in the same HPUX forum -> shl load problem. One thing in common: these posts had zero responses..might be a clue.

Re: Where are you seeing SSI Errors?

These days the HPUX Forum has become very problematic. I'll call it 'pot luck paging'. Today is Saturday, January 13, so I would suggest that the Forums shouldn't be too busy. When I enter the HPUX Forum , I see messages for 1/11 and 1/10 listed. With the typical activity in this Forum, I know that there has to be more messages for 1/11, plus 1/12 and 1/13 don't have anything. After performing several refreshes, I end up with messages starting on 1/5, 1/8 or 1/11 randomly. Nothing current! I'm not using the page selection at the bottom of the page either.

One thing to note here is that I do not see this type of error in any of the other ITRC Forum areas. I can't say that I've hit them all, but I participate in most of them. This has been a problem all week, but originally was limited to the 1/5 date range. Now this randomness seems to have become the rule.
