We have an MTI disk array connected to one of our HP servers. Will fbackup backup those raw devices/filesystems??

Solution
fbackup doesnt backup raw devices, only mounted filesystems. I'd suggest using Omniback, it has an option to backup raw devices. You could also try dd. For more exmaples be sure to search the forums, look for backup and raw. You can use the "dd" command to backup up your raw files. do a check on this forum for dd or check the onlne manual.

For non-critical backups, dd is useful but I would never rely on it for important business needs. You need the checksums, the date/time, labels and error recovery built into Omniback and other commercial backup tools. dd has nothing except a simple copym not even a verify pass.
