Windows Firewall Client for HP-UX

Hi - I'm trying to set-up bidirectional FTP from an Integrity server to the internet via a Windows ISA server.
The guys who administer the network won't allow us to set the routing up so this is a SecureNAT client, and the standard FTP via the ISA server using it's Web Proxy service is unidirectional and via a browser only anwyay so no use.

So - my last option is to use what they use on their Windows machines which is the "Firewall Client".

The question is - is there a Windows Firewall Client for HP-UX (this is a specific piece of software that will work with Windows ISA Server - I'm not looking for generic Proxy clients or suchlike)?

There is nothing like what you are looking for. I think all you need is ftp ports to be opened on the firewall.

Re: Windows Firewall Client for HP-UX

Shalom,

There is a firewall product for HP-UX called ipfilter. It permits you to manage and block ports.

There may by proxy software on http://hpux.connect.org.uk/

Or perhaps part of Internet Express on http://software.hp.com

But if you want the functionality of a Windows ISA server than I suggest you use the inferior OS and use Windows.

It really sounds like you need a content filtering firewall solution. Checkpoint and Cisco provide these, and Esafe provides a content filtering solution. These are all corporate cost, configurable products.

Re: Windows Firewall Client for HP-UX

Actually what I'm going to do is stop looking for a HP-UX firewall client and do the transfer via a Windows server instead!

That will do while we investigate further whether they can change to a SecureNAT setup.

Thanks again
