Wouldn't it be neat to own a monkey?

Hey all,

Perhaps a bit off topic, but a question that needs to be answered nontheless...

Sure would!

no more need for an autochanger, you wouldn't have to worry about fbackup prompting for a second tape.... the list goes on and on...

Re: Wouldn't it be neat to own a monkey?

A monkey.....

What exactly do you mean by neat?

What breed of monkey?

There are some that are no bigger than a persons finger and some that are rather large. The former might not be bad. The latter..... well, I'd hate to have to clean up after it and it probably wouldn't be very "neat".

I personally could think of lots of things I'd like instead of a monkey.

So I guess to answer your question: No, my personal opinion is that it wouldn't be very neat to own a monkey.

I don't know, an MSCE would work just as well if he is not given a login and they do tend to be better potty trained.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Wouldn't it be neat to own a monkey?

Hi Timothy,

This is the first thing that made me laugh today ;-) quite an interesting question.

Now to answer your question, do you mean it would be nice/cool to have a monkey or do you mean having a monkey would make your place neat/tidy ;), would attend all the meetings for you. get blamed for you when those restores don't work ;)

Also not sure if you considered leasing one ;)

The question to you is why monkey? why not something else? what are your requirements ?

Hi (again) Timothy:

...and then, your query also brought to mind an old musing of who, I don't recall, but it postulates:

That given enough monkeys, enough typewriters [remember those?] and enough time, they could compose Shakespearean sonnets...

Hi again,

The Future of Technology:
one Super-Duper-Mega Computer, One Man and One Dog which control everything.

The computer manages everything while the man's responsibility is to feed the dog and the dog's responsibility is to prevent the man from touching the Super-Duper-Mega Computer

I think a Monkey would an asset in the IT industry. They would be far smarter than operators who just don't get it, despite how many bananas you feed them!!!

Hi there.
Sometimes i feel like one getting all this banana software riping at the customer's site.
Besides that it's a nice idea. Have you thought about the fact, that little animals make small piles of ... and large animals large pile ? What about the cost for the food ?
;-) Don't take this too serious. I got a seventeen year old monkey at home.

I don't know... i remember a Dilbert series where Zimbu the monkey showed his superiority over Dilbert cause he could type with his tail. I'd hate to get replaced cause I can't write scripts with my butt (well, I can, but they really don't make much sense....) :)

Re: Wouldn't it be neat to own a monkey?

Well, here is a different twist to your answer. I believe that answer has been answered by the companies, we are the monkeys they own, trained to do things, sometimes we don?t know why, but we do for a reward, of not so much a banana, although a lot of us feel we get paid in bananas, and if we don?t do it, we get either "shocked" by our reviews, or kicked out of the zoo, and have to find another zoo to get back in to.

Re: Wouldn't it be neat to own a monkey?

Personally, I'd love to own a monkey, not to assist with my daily administrative tasks, but rather a good representative to send to meetings. Not only would a monkey be a great conversation piece, but it would also be on the same level as some of our management around here so I think he/she (monkey) would fit right in :)

Re: Wouldn't it be neat to own a monkey?

Actually I work with enough monkeys. Although, it does help to have a candy dish to feed and help induce good behavior. I think it would be more helpful to clone myself, which brings up a whole new question.

Wow,

due to the markets great demand, I just consider to sell "monkey-outsourcing".
I could put one in a cage, and option-holders could get webcam access on demand.
