X.25 Network.....Help

Hi,
I`m having 2 N Class Hp Server --MC/Service Guard with X.25 card installed on both server.
X.25 Card Model :-J3525A.

1) I want to connect Cisco Router-2611 & to establish ISDN connectivity with another Router at remote site.
So I want to know how do I connect my X.25 card with the Router,Can I connect Cable directly between X.25 card and serial interface of the router or I require some device in between ( like PAD,SWITCH,X.25 circuit, etc.)
And also provide the Cable,Device specifications, PART NO. which R required.

RGDS & THANXS in ADVANCE.....
Any Kind of Help will be Appreciated.

Re: X.25 Network.....Help

Hello Jai,

If you have x.25 card in your server , you connect this to A DCE device ( normally a modem, BT/whoever looks after the telecommunications provide this which then connects to the NTU and to the X.25 cloud) , what i gather you will have cables with your x.25 card , what you need to do is contact BT/Telecoms company and tell them you need a connection to the x.25 network ( they will install the relevant kit (i.e. a modem , NTU), you will have to configure the card. THey will also give you x.25 remote and local address.

Also find out about the charges.
what do you think , does it make sense?

Re: X.25 Network.....Help

Normally the X.25 cable needs a converter cable depending upon the the connection you are going to use ie RS232 or V.35 that is the MFC35 connector basically most of the devices connecting to the x.25 card will be having the v.35 interface (I dont remember the number exactly)You may have to use a converter cable with the cable which has arrived with the card.
I cant tell you if you can connect to the cisco router, but i guess you can find it from Cisco specifications.
