X-windows only works for root

I just got a copy of Reflection X installed. When the CDE login comes up I can log in as root and everything is fine, the workspace and desktop loads. Now when I try to log in as a user it gives me an error saying the desktop messaging systems could not be started. Then when I click OK the Reflection X session terminates. Is there something I need to set for all the users to be able to use CDE with Reflections??

Thanks

Eric,

Are the users' home directories local (I assume root's is)?

Re: X-windows only works for root

Hi Eric,

sounds like a permissions problem with your CDE installation to me...
Try "swverify CDE*" and check the contents of your "/var/adm/sw/swverify.log" for wrong owners/groups/permissions.
Then correct those being wrong.

Re: X-windows only works for root

Hi,

Along with the suggestions listed above, try running /usr/contrib/bin/X11/dr_dt and see if it lists out any errors.

This could be simple permission issue. Also try as one user and look at his/her $HOME/.dt/errorlog to see if you get any clues there.
