Ximian Gnome v1.4
Hi guys/gals,
Nothing serious, just seeing if anyone out there can enlighten me.
I've been playing about with Ximian Gnome on HP-UX 11i (on a C200 w/s) for a couple of days and I'm curious about a couple of things I've found.
To be fair I was expecting a couple of issues and I've found that both SAM (character and GUI)and SD-UX refused to play. I can imagine it's to do with Motif, CDE, etc., so I scoured the ITRC and all Ximian docs but failed to find any info. Perfview (GUI version) works fine.
Any insights would be welcome!
I realise that CDE will have certain elements that won't work under Gnome but I'm curious anyhoo.
Cheers,
Tim

Re: Ximian Gnome v1.4
refused to play .... could you be a bit more specific ?
any errors ?
what's $LANG set to ?
Also maybe worth looking at http://www.software.hp.com/products/GNOME/docs/tech02-keys.txt
but I could be way off not knowing the actual problem ...but it maybe relevant/linked to your issue .....

Re: Ximian Gnome v1.4
Hi alex,
thanks for the reply, bit of a false alarm I'm afraid...as soon as I sent the message my brain(cell) woke up and I looked at the PATH variable -lo, and behold /usr/sbin was'nt present. Problem solved.
Such a welcome move having Gnome ported to HPUX and being a RH linux user I should've done this much earlier!!
Hope version 12 has Gnome as standard.
Cheers,
Tim
