ACPI on Compaq nx6125 not updating battery state

Hi,
I'm running Gentoo Linux on a nx6125 and got most things working. The last big problem is, that the battery state (/proc/acpi/battery/C175/state) doesn't update after the system runs for a while.

The strange thing: when I read the cpu-temperature from /proc/acpi/thermal_zone/TZ1/temperature the battery state updates. There is 100% cpu usage for about 2 seconds after doing so. The bad thing: it seems like the fans don't run until cat'ing/reading from this file, even if the temperature reaches a trip point defined the thermal zone.

It seems like the battery state stops updating after the temperature reaches the trip point, but I'm not sure about that.

I tryed booting with ec_burst=1, but it's still the same.

I hope you can help me :)

Re: ACPI on Compaq nx6125 not updating battery state

Seen some ACPI issues on these laptops (for example http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5534)

Its an 64bit Turion system so guess it'll take some time to adapt (kernel and ACPI module) to use ACPI smoothly.Check also this (kernel patch?) : http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-amd64@lists.debian.org/msg11770.html
